Why Choose a Dermal Therapist?

What’s a Dermal Therapist anyway?

In a generally self-regulated industry it’s important for you to be comfortable in knowing what qualification that your therapist or clinician holds. Let me break it down – super quick and easy for you. Beauty Therapist – Diploma of Beauty Therapy – we learn about ALL the body systems within the year course and how they apply to basic facials, skincare, waxing, tinting, massage and more.

(This is me guys) Dermal Therapist – Graduate or Advanced Diploma – here we focus on SKIN at a cellular level far more in depth than Beauty School, anti-ageing principals, cosmetic procedures and basics of cosmeceutical science.

Dermal Clinician – Bachelor Degree – this is the highest qualification you can hold before medical degrees and is a three year university qualification.

What should you look for? (besides me, obviously) Who do you get along with? Who do you trust? – and who are you going to listen to for advice, to work together to reach your skin goals? Also, does your therapist or clinician complete regular continuing education courses? In my opinion, it is vital to go to someone who regularly updates their knowledge and stays current in this ever-changing and exciting industry.

Ask the questions! No-one should be offended if you want to know who you’re placing your trust, skin health and hard earned dollars with. Sam xx
